Project Approach--Developing Questions of Inquiry

2hrs of in-service clock hours

This training session will have participants use a modified form of Jean Goldhaber's Cycle of Inquiry and excerpts from George Forman's, Asking Good Questions article to apply strategies of using Open-ended questions to guide the inquiry process within the Project Approach. Participants will be able to share with each other and the trainer the types of questions they are currently asking (and following for inquiry) and develop new questions/strategies to implement within the Project Approach. Participants will create an Action Plan to use methods they have identified in this session in the future prior to the next training session.

Objectives:

·      To examine the Cycle of Inquiry and identify how it supports the Project Approach method

·      To apply strategies from Asking Good Questions to our own practices with children

·      To create an Action Plan to implement strategies identified in the training
